Lori Mobley Groover Leadership Program
The Lori Mobley Groover Leadership Program is named for a former GATA president, Lori Mobley Groover, and exists to recognize students who show leadership potential and a passion for the athletic training profession that Lori exhibited during her career. Scholarships are awarded to a student on the high school level ($250), the undergraduate level ($500), and the postgraduate level ($750).
All students must be enrolled in a school in Georgia to be considered for the award. Undergraduate students must have been accepted into an accredited athletic training program. All applicants must plan to pursue a career in athletic training as their primary career goal.
All application materials are submitted online. A Sponsor's recommendation is part of the scholarship application. One letter of recommendation (from another certified athletic trainer other than the Sponsor) should be submitted with the application to the Honors & Awards Committee. All application materials (including application, transcript, and one letter of recommendation) must be submitted by March 1 each year for consideration. Official transcripts are preferred, but unofficial transcripts are acceptable if necessary to make the deadline.
All awards are presented at the Honors & Awards Luncheon at the annual meeting of the GATA.
